An Artful Event Partner for Annual Convenings

At Artistic Leadership, we believe that convening people is a sacred act. And one of the most exciting times organizations convene is at their annual conference. However, keeping things fresh and dynamic can be challenging, especially when you are focused on registering attendees! That’s where Artistic Leadership can help.

We work closely and collaboratively with event teams to design and deliver signature elements that artfully bring your event theme and purpose to life.

Case Study: 2023 Alder Impact Summit at Ojai Valley Inn

In 2023, Artistic Leadership founder, Tiffany Thompson, partnered with her longtime colleagues at Alder during their Impact Summit at Ojai Valley Inn. Tiffany helped curate three elements that seamlessly integrated into Alder’s broader event. Shireen Amin, Alder’s Senior Director of Member Experience, said, “Tiffany was an invaluable creative partner for our organization's annual Summit. As the Executive Producer, I had the pleasure of working closely with her to bring our vision to life. Whether curating main stage content, infusing creativity into our breakout sessions, or sharing her voice with our community, Tiffany elevated the entire experience and left a lasting, memorable impact.”

Setting the Tone!

In 2020, Alder commissioned Tiffany to write a song about civic character and leadership. Weaving together quotes from the organization brand book and manifesto, “Soul of the Nation” captured the heart of Alder’s mission and went on to win an international art competition. Since Tiffany has perform the Alder “theme song” at multiple gatherings.

At the 2023 Impact Summit, Alder wanted to include their featured artist, The Wizard of OG, in the performance; so, Tiffany invited OG to kick off the main event with a duet rendition of “Soul of the Nation.” This invitational posture and generous spirit of collaboration are hallmarks of Artistic Leadership.

Event Moderation and Programming

A trained CIA analyst and writer, Tiffany supported the event programing team as a moderator for main stage discussions, creating an engaging and warm space for keynote speaker David Brooks to connect with the community.

Breakouts: The Art of Kintsugi

On the second day of the summit, Tiffany led a breakout session featuring the Japanese art of Kintsugi for 12 guests. While many corporate events emphasize physical activities such as yoga, golfing, shooting, or climbing, the Kintsugi experience offered a reflective alternative. Some participants had health issues or other needs that prevented them from engaging in more active sessions. The playful, engaging Kintsugi workshop led to laughter and stress relief in the beautiful space at Ojai’s Wisdom Tree.

When asked about the experience of partnering with AL, Alder CEO Michael Davidson said, ““As the CEO of a community of prominent leaders, I’m always looking for transformational experiences to bring the best out of us. Tiffany’s multi-faceted offering elevated and deepened our whole Impact Summit. She created original music about our mission, led a main stage discussion with David Brooks, and facilitated breakouts that took people to a soulful place of alignment with our vision and connection to each other.”

Ultimately, AL offers a portfolio of tools and creative assets that can enhance any large gathering that values creative approaches and artful connections.
